On-campus residency requirements vary by program and degree level. With the exception of doctoral degrees, programs from kindergarten through masters degrees are not required to have any on-campus residency sessions. However, some institutions will require brief residency sessions periodically throughout their programs simply to assist the students with their learning experience. Doctoral programs are required to have some on-campus residency, although this can be as little as three to four weeks spread over the course of study.
