Master of Educational Technology
The Master of Educational Technology (MET) is a 31-hour degree program designed for educators interested in learning more about the integration of new technologies to enhance the teaching and learning process. This program is designed for K-12 educators, technical and community college instructors, administrators, library media specialists, and technology leaders who wish to keep abreast of new innovations in educational technology.
Emerging technologies, digital citizenship, differentiating instruction with technology resources, and online collaboration are just a few of the foundational components of the MET program. The program of study is based upon the National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers (NETS.T) of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). To demonstrate competency in the NETS for Teachers, students will create an ePortfolio based upon the standards to include an action research project. The MET program is offered as an Online Program (OLP) and students are not required to hold teacher certification to obtain the MET degree. No state certification will be obtained through completion of the MET degree.
