Master of Education in Teaching Arts

Mississippi College’s Teacher Education and Leadership department offers unique programs at the Master's degree level, designed for those who want to become instructors in specialized fields, like teaching arts. These programs emphasize the six dimensions of leadership – personal/interpersonal, instructional, organizational, resource, political and informational – while integrating seminars, practicums and internships into the curriculum. Students at both undergraduate and graduate levels of the program far surpass the MDE requirement of an 80% pass rate of the appropriate Praxis II scores, with recent graduate scores at or approaching 100%.
Each of the teaching programs in Mississippi College’s Department of Teacher Education and Leadership follows the same admissions guidelines. In addition to meeting the general admissions requirements for Mississippi College’s Graduate School, students must meet the requirements for a Master of Education in Teaching Arts degree.
