MA in the New Testament
Since 1893, Johnson University has been committed to training preachers and severant leaders for vocational ministries that extend the kingdom of God. To increase the depth and quality of New Testament study among current and future church leaders, the School of Bible and Theology offers an online Master of Arts degree in New Testament. This advanced, applicable degree places a special emphasis on the preaching ministry and other areas of Kingdom service. The online delivery offers flexibility for students working full-time.
The MA in New Testament program equips students to understand the New Testament on a concentrated level and provides the tools necessary to preach with maturity, thoughtfulness and power. The convenient online format allows students to set a manageable pace that fits into work and family life. Experienced faculty members are available through email, toll-free calling, fax, and traditional mail. Three campus visits, designed to create community among participants and familiarize students with the program format and professors, complement the online delivery method.
The online MA in New Testament curriculum consists of a one-time, three-day, on-campus orientation, a core curriculum of 24 credit hours in New Testament Studies, 9 credit hours in a chosen concentration, a 3 credit hour project integrating the two, and a comprehensive examination. In order to meet the needs and interests of students, this program offers four concentrations, including Preaching, Spiritual Formation and Leadership, Research and aCustomized concentration.
