Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies
The MA in Intercultural Studies (MAICS)—now offered with flexible study options—prepares students for ministry or service in cross-cultural or multicultural contexts. Students will learn how to study and work in different cultures, and will become aware of theological, biblical, sociological and anthropological issues that relate to work in different contexts. This degree is intended for students with varied levels of cross-cultural exposure, and emphasizes both scholarship and praxis. MAICS students gain the foundational skills to pursue further studies or research opportunities, or to work in cross-cultural settings within the United States and around the world.
The program includes a foundational set of integrated courses from all three schools at Fuller, followed by courses that provide a solid framework of missiological disciplines. In addition to this foundation, students will also take a variety of relevant elective classes, or pursue a specific area of emphasis in greater depth.
