In response to the growing health care market, Colorado Christian University has added an emphasis in health care administration to its Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. According to the CCU News Release, "The MBA-HCA will prepare students for such disruptive innovation by training them in health care economics and challenging them to evaluate creative and effective solutions to health care issues."

Earlier this month the Board of Trustees at at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary approved an online Master of Theological Studies degree. In addition to being a fully online degree, the MTS program is only 36 credit hours, making it "the shortest fully online master’s degree among Southern Baptist seminaries" according to the news release.
Reformed Theological Seminary announced that they're going to offer two new online degrees: the Master of Arts (Biblical Studies) and the Master of Arts (Theological Studies). These join their existing online Master of Arts (Religion) degree. Additionally, RTS announced that Master of Divinity (M.Div.) students will be able to take up to two-thirds (67%) of their courses via distance education.
Inside Higher Ed reports on the growth of large online enrollments by non-profit universities. Apparently eleven non-profit universities claim over 10,000 online-only students. This includes Liberty University, the largest and only Christian institution included in the list.
As many colleges and universities open their doors to a new semester, many potential students may not be attending this year. Tuition rates for many state universities have increased dramatically this past year due to budget cuts, and many students cannot afford the tuition. With these challenges, higher education officials in the state of Washington and other Western states do have an affordable alternative. According to an article in The Columbian, the Western Governors University Washington offers students an affordable online alternative to the traditional state university and other for profit universities.
