Non-Profit Mega-Universities

Inside Higher Ed reports on the growth of large online enrollments by non-profit universities.  Apparently eleven non-profit universities claim over 10,000 online-only students.  This includes Liberty University, the largest and only Christian institution included in the list.

Although it's encouraging to see the rise of non-profit institutions in the large enrollment category, the field is still dominated by for-profit universities.  To quote from Inside Higher Ed, "Nonprofits have a lot of ground to make up. The study identified 11 nonprofit colleges that enrolled more than 10,000 online-only students last year, with a total joint enrollment of 280,000. That list includes Liberty University, Rio Salado College and Excelsior College.... By contrast, the dozen biggest for-profits enroll 818,000 online-only students."
