Master of Arts in Biblical Studies
The 60 unit Master of Arts in Biblical Studies provides graduate-level biblical and theological instruction for students seeking to earn an accredited MA degree. The MABS generally satisfies mission board requirements, and prepares students for a career in Christian service. On average, the MABS can be completed in two years by attending one evening per week; however, students are free to take classes at their own pace.
The curriculum leading to the MABS degree is a two-year, 60-unit course of instruction designed to prepare students for:
Vocational and avocational Christian ministries that are enhanced by graduate-level, Bible exposition and communication skills not requiring Greek or Hebrew exegesis; and/or
- >The purpose of the MABS program is achieved by enabling students:
- >To apply inductive methodology to analyze and explain the purpose and theme of any book of the Bible;
- >To apply a grammatical-historical hermeneutic to derive and defend a biblical doctrinal position; and
- >To apply knowledge gained from Bible study to the issues of life and in ministry to others for the glory of God.
