Apologetics and Christian Ministry Tracks Available
The purpose of the Master of Divinity (MDIV) program is to provide for those pursuing vocational Christian ministry a wide variety of knowledge and skills including biblical, theological, historical, and practical studies.
The student may choose between two tracks of study: 1) Christian Ministry and 2) Apologetics.
Ministry Track
The MDIV Ministry Track is a 90 semester hour degree program consisting of 27 semester hours of core courses, 6 semester hours of historical studies courses, 27 semester hours of church ministry courses, and 30 semester hours of elective courses.
Program Objectives
1.
Accurately interpret the Bible in light of its historical-grammatical context.
2.
Utilize the Church’s historical and theological heritage as an important resource in their personal spiritual development and ministry.
3.
Articulate a biblical philosophy of ministry consistent with their vocation.
4.
Communicate biblical and theological truths through preaching, teaching, writing, or in such other ways as may be appropriate.
5.
Evaluate and develop ministries in light of the Great Commission and the Great Commandment.
6.
Accurately and empathetically evaluate people and their personal circumstances and provide appropriate pastoral care or referral.
7.
Lead in developing goals and designing and implementing ministry.
8.
Serve with Christian character in their personal and professional lives.
Apologetics Track
The MDIV Apologetics Track a 90 semester hour degree program consisting of 27 semester hours of core courses, 6 semester hours of historical studies courses, 27 semester hours of church ministry courses, 18 semester hours of apologetics courses, and 12 semester hours of elective courses.
Program Objectives
1.

Articulate a biblical philosophy of ministry consistent with their vocation.

Articulate a comprehensive rational and biblical defense of the truth of Christianity, including (a) philosophical foundations for truth and the knowability of reailty, (b) the existence and attributes of God, and (c) the truth of Christianity.
10.
Articulate thorough responses to major objections to Christianity including skepticism, the problem of evil, attacks on the integrity and trustworthiness of the Scriptures.
11.
Articulate thorough refutations of non-Christian views including postmodernism, non-traditional belief systems, world religions, atheism, and secular world views.
Military Chaplaincy Track
Available 100% online or through in-class studies in Metro Atlanta. Designed for those seeking a career as a military chaplain.
The M.Div. in Military Chaplaincy meets the minimal academic requirements established by the U.S. Department of Defense for serving as an Armed Forces chaplain. Individual endorsing agencies may have different standards. Students should consult their denomination or endorsing agency to determine if this degree is appropriate for them.
