The purpose of this program is to provide an advanced academic foundation in New Testament Studies. Students will be expected to gain proficiency in appropriate exegetical tools and languages as well as a broad understanding of textual and theological issues.

Course offerings include:

  • Introduction to the New Testament
  • Intertestamental History
  • World Christianity
  • Introduction to Advanced research & Writing
  • 12 hours of exegetical courses chosen from: Sermon on the Mount, Resurrection Narratives, Passion Narratives, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Romans, I and II Corinthians, Prison Epistles, Hebrews
  • Six hours Hebrew language
  • Six hours of electives

In examining the credentials of applicants, admissions personnel consider the applicant’s experience, commitment, and character, as well as academic ability demonstrated in the applicant’s undergraduate records. The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) may be required if the applicant’s cumulative undergraduate G.P.A. is lower than the School of Graduate Studies 2.5 minimum requirement.
