B.S. in Human Development
The School of Professional Studies' Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree programs are designed for working adults. Programs focus on teamwork, critical thinking, problem solving, communication skills, understanding of cultural diversity, ethical principles in relations with others, and leadership strategies. Particular focus is placed on developing critical Christian values, an understanding of servant leadership, and professional competencies in a diverse and rapidly changing world.
The Bachelor of Science in Human Development is for individuals interested in teaching, counseling, or other helping professions. Hope's integrated curricular approach links ethics, Christian values, critical thinking, problem solving, technology and teamwork to each area of human growth and development, forming a critical base of knowledge and skills for entrance into these fields as well as preparation for further career development, teaching credential or graduate study. This 124-unit program requires 48 units in the major as well as a 76-unit course of General Education studies.
