B.S. in Christian Ministry
The School of Professional Studies' Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree programs are designed for working adults. Programs focus on teamwork, critical thinking, problem solving, communication skills, understanding of cultural diversity, ethical principles in relations with others, and leadership strategies. Particular focus is placed on developing critical Christian values, an understanding of servant leadership, and professional competencies in a diverse and rapidly changing world.
The Bachelor of Science in Christian Ministry is a 124-unit program that includes a 46-unit major, designed for individuals preparing for professional Christian ministry or graduate study in the field, as well as those seeking personal development and equipping for various church leadership roles. Particular focus is placed on developing critical professional competencies for effective ministry and servant leadership.
The Christian Ministry program concludes with a Field Practicum that is completed at a local church or para-church organization. Students are assigned a successful mentor with whom they interact and debrief during the Practicum. This experience provides a supervised context for students to implement and practice much of what they have learned through the Christian Ministry major.
