The Master of Theology (ThM) degree, an advanced preparation program, provides Master of Divinity graduates the opportunity for further study in areas of particular interest.

Covenant Seminary offers two ThM degree programs:

• ThM in Exegetical Theology, designed to assist pastors, missionaries, and teachers in sharpening exegetical skills, as well as provide those considering doctoral studies the opportunity to develop research skills and test their calling to further study. Students in this program focus on studies in Old and New Testament, biblical theology, and hermeneutics. A thesis is typically part of this program.
• ThM in Biblical and Pastoral Theology, a more flexible program designed for pastorally oriented students. Students take coursework in both the biblical and practical disciplines. A thesis is not part of this program.

Covenant Seminary’s ThM program gives students the opportunity for advanced, directed study. Students may use this opportunity to explore the possibility of further study, to wrestle with doctrines or issues of faith, or to hone ministry skills.
