Online College, Seminary Degrees
Covenant Seminary has designed its Doctor of Ministry (DMin) program to meet the needs of persons active in ordained ministry. Our goal is to enable the student to draw upon Biblical, historical, and theological ministry resources and to attain a higher degree of professional competence in the practice of ministry. The DMin program offers a multi-faceted opportunity for strengthening ministry. Students benefit from gleaning ministry knowledge and practice by intentional interaction with the Francis A. Schaeffer Institute, as well as the expertise of Covenant Seminary’s faculty in pastoral counseling, cross-cultural ministry, church revitalization, ministry leadership, and homiletics. With core classes and choice electives, the student can forge a course of study that draws upon this multi-faceted ministry arena to sharpen the student's skills for ministry. DMin courses are offered in intensive five-day sessions in January, late May, or June on the campus of Covenant Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. The foundational and core courses have been designed to deepen the student's understanding and sharpen skills in major ministry areas such as worship, preaching, counseling, and congregational life. Entering DMin students are encouraged to begin their program by taking one of the foundational courses.
