The purpose and general goal of the Doctor of Ministry degree is to stimulate the candidates growth toward personal maturity and competence in the practice of Christian ministry.

The Doctor of Ministry degree is the terminal, professional degree program for those engaged in
the practice of ministry.

Moving to a new level of personal fulfillment and leadership effectiveness in the practice
of ministry.

Goals of the Doctor of Ministry Degree
The purpose and general goal of the Doctor of Ministry degree is to stimulate the
candidate’s growth toward personal maturity and competence in the practice of Christian
ministry. The D.Min. program seeks to develop within its participants the following
competencies and program outcomes:
A. An advanced understanding of the nature and purpose of ministry.
B. Enhanced competencies in ministerial skills.
C. The integration of these dimensions into the theologically reflective practice of
ministry.
D. New knowledge about the practice of ministry.
E. Continued growth in spiritual maturity.
