The Apostolic Faith Mission of South Africa (AFM) was founded in 1908 by John G. Lake. It is the 1st Pentecostal Church in Southern Africa, with a membership that exceeds 1 million. The Auckland Park Theological Seminary (ATS) forms part of the AFM, but it provides inter-denominational training.

Vision

Through Training and Empowerment, it is our aim to provide Direction, Light and Hope to People and Nations in accordance with God?s will.

Mission

The main objective of the ATS is to provide excellent theological training by means of various tuition methods such as intramural classes, learning centres, theological centres, distance campuses and home study.

Theological training implies the formation or equipment of Christians who have a calling, to further the Kingdom of God by using their gifts in ministry. This includes the training of pastors, evangelists, church planters, local church leaders, youth workers, hospital workers, cell church leaders, workers in children?s ministry, missionaries and educators.

Intramural classes are offered at the main campus of the ATS in Auckland Park, Johannesburg. These three-year study programmes lead to the BA (Theology) degree. The University of Johannesburg confers these degrees. Learners can pursue this degree, as well as all our post-graduate degrees, as home study all over the world.

Distance campuses are extensions of the intramural study programme at other venues, and are managed by the ATS Management Council.

It offers offer accredited Bachelor, Honours, Master?s and Doctoral degrees in Missiology, Practical Theology, Systematic Theology & Ethics, Old Testament, New Testament and Church History.
