Federal Grant money has been given to the University of Illinois in order to create an "open-access textbook." The school has received $150,000 towards this project.

 

Faculty members will be involved in writing the textbook which they are creating from scratch. They will be able to customize the textbook for their particular needs. "The textbook will be available for free online, and students will have the option of ordering an affordable print version." The project is an effort to make textbooks more affordable for students.
